Winter's Love

Winter's Love, originally uploaded by Design.Her.

Winter weather has finally made its way to the Land of Enchantment! It's great to see the snow stick around for more than a few hours, even if it does mean bitter cold and slushy streets. Now, if only this could happen without the temps dipping below zero degrees, I would be keen with the entire plan. However, with the help of a mug of hot apple cider and my Netflix instant queue full of great picks, I think I'll manage to make it through.

It is also at times like these that we can marvel at natures wonders. As girlish as it may seem, I absolutely love snowflakes. Looking at snow blanketing the city, they can become quite understated; but closer inspection provides a beautiful experience. I have never seen the details of a snowflake until this morning, through the lens of my camera. Each unique design seems to be a piece of winter's love.

Just Peachy

Just Peachy, originally uploaded by Design.Her.

Photo number 14 for the June photo-a-day project. It almost got down to the wire last night when I woke up from an exceptionally long "nap" to realize that I had only three hours to take a photo. Scrambling to find anything at all to shoot, I saw one last peach left in the fruit bowl in the kitchen. Procrastination is proving to haunt me even after the pressures of school have passed.

::sigh::

That is, the pressures of undergraduate at least...

Macrose

This has been the first week in a long time that I have had actual free time to myself.  Today I was able to mess around with some reverse macro photography, which I practiced on the newly blooming roses in the front yard.  I have to say that I was rather surprised with the results, seeing that I don't have any macro equipment [a.k.a. big fancy expensive lens].  With all of this time, I may just have to investigate more into this method of macro.

If I don't have to invest in a new, expensive lens; I will be a happy camper.

Check out my flickr page for another macro shot I took this morning.
